Hi, I’m Alex, a design systems product designer based in Denver, CO.
For ten years I’ve designed the components and tokens that product teams build with. Most recently that meant four and a half years on the TurboTax design system at Intuit, where I helped define a new semantic token system that cut our tokens by 90%. Before that I built component libraries at Apple, Eversight, and GoPro. At GoPro I also designed the interface for Karma, the company’s first drone.
I love prototyping. Putting a working idea in front of people early is the quickest way I know to find the balance between function and delight.
Outside of design, my hobbies include rock climbing and weight lifting. I used to climb professionally, which took me all over the world, and climbing is how I found design in the first place.
